Hot or Aseptic Filling? Define the Process Scope

Compare RXGF/RXXGF hot filling and WJG aseptic enquiries with clear treatment, package and acceptance responsibilities. Prepare a useful process scope.

Choose hot filling or aseptic cold filling from the agreed product and packaging process, then request the matching equipment. A model name is not a complete process specification. For a useful quotation, identify where product treatment ends, what conditions the filler must receive and who confirms that the finished package meets the project requirements.

Jiangsu ASG Packaging Machinery Group identifies RXGF and RXXGF as hot filling equipment for tea and juice. Its separate WJG page identifies aseptic cold filling. Keep those catalogue identities separate; a request combining RXGF with aseptic filling needs clarification before equipment is selected.

Start with a product-and-package brief

Send the beverage description, relevant formulation information, representative samples, bottle drawing and closure specification together. State the intended storage and distribution conditions and the process requirements already established for that product. Mark unresolved requirements instead of replacing them with the words hot or aseptic.

Ask the responsible process specialist which evidence is needed to assess the proposed product and package. Treat that assessment as its own task. The equipment supplier should be able to identify the configuration being discussed without an unverified shelf-life or preservation assumption entering the quotation.

Draw the handover at the filler inlet

Request a simple diagram from product preparation to the filled, closed package. At the product-treatment outlet and filler inlet, name the required conditions, how they will be checked and the party responsible. Identify the connecting tank, pipework and controls in the proposed arrangement, including items supplied by others.

If existing treatment equipment will remain, provide its documentation and the actual connection arrangement for review. A quotation for a filler should not silently become a quotation for a complete processing plant. Conversely, a proposal including treatment needs a clear handover to the filling equipment.

Specify the container and closure scope

For each proposal, ask what preparation and handling of bottles and closures are included, what the factory must provide and which conditions need process review. Require those answers for the actual package materials. Do not infer a preparation method, cleaning arrangement or contamination-control capability from an equipment name or photograph.

For a hot-filling proposal, request confirmation that the selected bottle and closure have been assessed against the proposed process conditions. For an aseptic proposal, ask the supplier to identify the proposed process boundary, its interfaces and the evidence required to assess them. These are questions for the quoted configuration, not interchangeable promises.

Separate an equipment trial from process evidence

A trial showing bottles being filled and capped answers mechanical questions about that demonstrated arrangement. Record the product, package, supplied equipment and operating conditions used. Have the acceptance document distinguish fill and closing checks from the evidence required for the intended product preservation and distribution conditions.

Define who reviews each result and which unresolved items prevent final acceptance. If the supplier proposes a different recipe, package or process condition for the demonstration, record the difference. Successful operation with that sample must not quietly approve an untested commercial product.

Make the quotation answer the missing questions

Use the same scope sheet for competing proposals. For every interface, request an owner, an included item or exclusion, and the evidence still required. In particular, ask:

  • Which product and package does this proposal cover, and which process requirements remain unconfirmed?
  • Who supplies and checks the product-treatment-to-filler connection and its required inlet conditions?
  • Which bottle, closure and cleaning provisions are included, separately supplied or subject to assessment?
  • Which checks demonstrate equipment operation, and which separate process evidence is required before acceptance?

Send ASG the completed brief and marked diagram when requesting RXGF/RXXGF hot filling or WJG aseptic cold filling equipment. Ask for a configuration-specific response with open questions stated. This produces a more useful comparison than collecting similarly named machines and assuming their processing scope is equivalent.
